Its an old school kinda bass, rather low output, passive, but sounds killer. Has a chunky 5 string neck. Play one, then see if you like it.
I just sold one. Tone wise I think it has the best classic tone of any 5 string. Eventhough it is passive it has several real tone combinations. Given the fact that the pickups can be tapped into series, parallel, and single coil. With the bridge pup set to series and the neck pup set to single coil it gets a huge tone. I sold mine because I couldn't deal with the size of the neck. I have small hands and I can't really deal with a 5 string neck much bigger than 1 3/4 at the nut. The Roscoe is 1 7/8. By the end of a 4 hr gig my wrist was starting to feel real tired.
