So I am a big fan of Labella's flatwounds, and reading these forums I read a lot of good comments about the fender flats, so when I bought a set and opened them up I was pretty surprised to find a set of black tapewound style strings in the package. So are fender stainless flatwounds, 9050M long scale supposed to be black instead of the traditional stainless steel color? Because they look like tapewounds.
Wrong strings sent but if you haven't tried them you might like em . I prefer flats or tapewounds and maybe the string gods want you to check em out.
Fair enough, now that i think about it I don't think I even ordered medium gauge, I prefer heavy gauge flats these days. But the box clearly says flatwound, and these are definitely tapes. I already own a pair of d'addario tapes, but these are definitely better. still i wanted some heavy gauge flats. Maybe I should have just bought another set of labellas.
