Do they or did they ever make the Standard series Fender Jazz 5 with a maple fingerboard? I see on the Fender website that they only come with Pao Ferro boards.

I'm pretty sure maple boards aren't available for this model.

Do you know if Fender has ever made a passive jazz 5 string with a maple board?

I'm sure you can get a MIA Fender Jazz V with a maple fingerboard. Check on the Fender website and Basscentral to be sure.

I think Fender only make passive J5's w/PauFerro Boards. When I worked at Sam Ash, that's all I remember seeing and it states Pau Ferro on the Fender site.

I believe that the maple boards are only offered on Active J's.

If you can't get a passive Fender V with a maple board, go for a Skyline DJ5 ($1,300) or KSD ($700) or you could pay maybe $1,300 and get one from Nino. :D
