    Hiya TB folks,
I figured ya'll would know better than anyone else on how to solve this dilemma I'm in. Ive currently got a Super Bassman 300 and 2x Genzler BA210-3 cabinets (8 ohm each, for total of 4 ohm). I'm looking to add an addition 3rd BA 210-3 for some added headroom and am fortunate that the Bassman can run down to 2 ohms to facilitate.
However the problem arises due to the BA210-3's not having a speaker output (only parallel inputs) to allow chaining them in series and the Bassman only has TWO speaker outputs. Is there a simple solution I'm missing here?

    Thanks

From the BassGearMag.com: Inputs/Outputs: Two Neutrik® Speakon® jacks; two ¼” jacks Genzler BA410-3 and BA210-3 SLT Bass Cabs | Bass Gear Magazine
Chain all three and plug into main speaker input.
You may want to cover the extention jack no one will plug in another cab in error.

Contact Fender or Genzler for more info.

Chaining at least two cabs together is what parallel speaker inputs are for, ItsMatt. The unused parallel inputs automatically become outputs to other cabs!

Hmmm, but I didn't see BassGearMag.com recommending chaining all three cabs from the main speaker output alone. Maybe that'd be OK, I dunno.

However, I see the Super Bassman manual recommending chaining two cabs from the main speaker output and one cab from the extension speaker output, and then you don't need a cover for an unused speaker connection on the amp. But don't let anyone plug in any more speakers to those cabs! ;) And be sure to set the impedance switch to 4 ohm, per the manual.

@ItsMattIThink --- thanks for using our cabs with this Fender amp. You'll be running a 2.67 ohm load off the amp with 3 of the BA210-3 cabs connected to it. Let me check with my friend Dave at Fender who designed this amp, just to make sure which connects on the back of the amp you should connect to.
Under most amps, I'd say 1 cab connected to the amp, and the rest of the cabs connected to each other---daisy-chaining them together. I would think you could plug them all into the main speaker output and set the Impedance switch to 2 ohms BUT..... Let me check and get back to you.

  5. Hmmm. I wonder 4 ohm or 2 ohm setting? Thanks @Jeff Genzler that would be appreciated

I talked to Dave tonight, run all 3 speaker cabs from the Main output jack, daisy-chain the cabs together and set Impedance Sw to 2 ohms. That is the way to go to run your 3 BA210-3 cabs. If you're considering a 3rd cab, I'd recommend you take a look at the SLT version for a little variety in configurations.
    Hope this helps.

@Jeff Genzler, I don't suppose Dave mentioned why the manual (above) to his amp says 4 ohms on the main and 8 ohms on extension, set to 4 ohms?

Ah the man himself! Thanks Jeff for going above and beyond to track down that answer from Fender. Was definitely looking at the SLT as the final addition just gotta pinch them pennies for a week or two :)

I am still a bit confused as far as daisy chaining with these particular cabinets, as I don't see anything on the BA210-3's labeled as an output to chain the additional speakers in series? Unless that's just the second speakon or the 1/4" parallel inputs im supposed to run into the input of the 2nd and 3rd cabs? Maybe I'm more of a newbie than I thought...

Yes, @G-Dog is correct, on the cabinet jack panels, you can use any jack to jump from one cab to another. Input into One Speakon and Out to the next cab from the second Speakon. Frankly you could go Input into a Speakon and out from a 1/4" jack to the next cabinet. All inputs on the rear panel are parallel so they are all available for Input/Output use. Hope that helps.

Thank you both of you, @G-Dog @Jeff Genzler, for taking the time to explain that. I was hopeful it was as simple as that to chain them just didnt want to assume anything and wreck my fancy new things :)

One final question, If I were to get the insane idea to snag the BA410-3 instead, which is 4 ohms, and run it with the 2 existing 8-ohm BA210-3's does that square out to a 2 ohm load between all 3 cabinets? I'd assume so as two 4-ohm cabinets would, right?

Yes, this would be a total 2 ohm load and I'd also take our a higher level of homeowners insurance for damaged windows ;)!! Seriously, that would be a phenomenal combination of cabs.

You would daisy chain the two 8 ohm cabs (paralleled for a total of 4 ohms to the head) and plug them into one of the outputs on the Fender and plug the 4 ohm cab into the other output.
