Fender tony franklin bass issues

Here is the problem. I brought a blemished Tony franklin fretless bass 2 years ago from zzounds. I noticed the G string sounded weak compared to the other strings, and the high D note sounded dead. I took it to have it set up. The G string sounds stronger now, but I still have that dead spot. Has anyone else with the Tony Franklin experienced this problem?
