This is my first bass I've purchased back in 1996.
    It's a Fernandes LEB-2 Jazz bass clone.

I bought it after reading a review in the September 1996 issue of BassPlayer magazine.
The reviewer compared this bass to a 60's Fender Jazz bass.

Overall, this bass plays well. The tone is ok. It does not produce a growl that other jazz basses I own produce.

I was wondering if anyone else has this bass in their inventory.

If so, tell me what you think about the instrument.

  2. Nice looking bass! The pickups aren't stock, in case you didn't know. I've got a green one and think they're very well made and great basses for the money. They may be made in the same factory that made the MIJ Fenders. Can anyone confirm or repudiate that?

  3. Also, looks like the knobs were swapped out. Mine has regular plastic Jazz Bass knobs.

Yes, I replaced the original pickups with some Seymour Duncan hot jazz pickups (SJB-2) and the stock pots with some CTS pots and chrome knobs.
