Well i have been working ever since the last day of school, combined with previous savings and i bought my first car. I still owe my parents a little money but itll be paid off in a few weeks. I bought the car from a guy down the street from me, retired police officer of 25 years so i trust him.

Its a 1994 Toyota Camry XLE V6. Fully loaded. Its the creme of the crop as far as camrys go , for me. My favorite year (gen3) combined with the leather interior, moon roof, spoiler, cd player, all the goodies that come with the x-luxury. Plus the V6 :) Sure beats the 1987 toyota ive been driving ;) 001.jpg 002.jpg 004.jpg 005.jpg

I just took teh pics so its night time, ill get beter ones soon.

I wouldn't get a bra for your car. You'll ruin the paint underneath it.

Which is terribly ironic, since the paint is what they are bought to protect.

That's a nice car bro. Your first real car is always something to remember. (I'm assuming... I decided to go to school instead of buying my car. I'm sure it'll pay off in the long run, but right now it hurts.)

So would the bra really be bad for my paint in the long run? If thats the case i wont even consider putting one on, but i mean , lots of people use them, so i figured they couldnt be that bad?
  9. Nice, that toyotas goin to last you a long time. That model was in my opinion the best one they built they can take what a beating (and thats from a guy who drives and works on nuthin but benzs :D ) good luck with her

I wouldn't bother. The car is a '94 so it's probably already got dings it and stuff right? Besides, you're more likely to get scratches and dings from other cars in parking lots than from stones and things on the road.

It won't be bad as long as you know how to take care of it. At least every time you wash the car, you'd need to take the bra off before hand and clean the bra as well. Make sure each are dry and free of all visible dirt. Even dirt you can't see on the bra can make tiny scratches that add up. Bottom line is, bras are fine but need regular maintenance.

Like others have said, you might be better off without it.

    I think that would be a mini-van :)
  14. lol hes right i got my car painted a while ago. And 2 months later someone smacked my car while opening there door :crying: (i touched it up, you cant see it unless i point it out). That and because you got such a pimpin car watch out for the playa haters who will try to ruin a nice car(Long story but my neibor keyed my car for parking in near his house for one day because i coundnt park in my normal spot because of construction (2 ft scratch on the trunk, cant cover it up with out completely painting it again).

Ditch the bra idea and invest in some compound (very unnoticable with white cars).

Good, good... Now I'm not the only one (I'm the very large man driving a white 92 Saturn....)
  17. i don't think the bra is a good idea either. they are more of a problem than a solution. if your car we be exposed to the elements or not washed constantly, it is not a good idea. just a little bit of dirt underneath that thing will ruin your paint job.

Good buy… I assume that you haven’t been driving for too long so I’ll just throw some ideas out there.

If you said that you know guy took care of car then this car will last you quite a bit if you treat it right. That V6 (3.0) although not as good as 4banger (2.2) in reliability in same car is a pretty good engine never the less much better on power… I think you gain about 50hp and lb/ft with V6, comes in handy when you need to maneuver…

By treat it right I mean this, when you stop to fuel the car up, I would suggest every time or close to every time check your fluids. So basically check your Oil, break fluid, tranny, tyre pressure, and other crap like that. Other thing to check once in few is timing belts and things such as that, they are easy to repair but if break they could do big damage. You have no idea how many times I’ve seen destroy their cars simply because they didn’t have any oil in the car, and car that’s more then 10 years, I believe you will need to ad oil to it because even if there are no licks, it will burn some. Out of smaller things… I’ve seen those with minor electric problems such as power windows and antenna and such, really nothing to worry about, small things…

Other thing I can tell is, learn your car! Learn how it maneuvers, IE car is FWD so that means if it gets out of control you have to hit the gas to straight it out… Breaking will spin it out even more, and stuff like that… basically if you want to be a good driver you have to know your car very well… (or any car that you really drive). Also learn its weak points, from what I remember when I drove similar car (never really owned it but from memory of what those cars were in for and from test drives what I’ve notices). Basically I think control and suspension on those cars are not top notch. I believe Shocks wear out pretty quickly, and in general suspension and handling are not the best. Not the worse (not even close to worse) but could be better. I found that breaks could be a bit woozy too, but nothing major really. Basically, just notice things that slightly bother you and take note of them. If you know weak points of car you know how to avoid loosing control and if you loose control you will know how to regain it.

Good choice though… cops will give you more breaks generally then they would with 2 door car. Remember, every one makes mistakes but if you stand out more you will get caught. IE red 2 door sports car is more likely to annoy cops slightly more so they will pool them over instead of Camry :) Ask cheezewiz there… he might tell you otherwise but its true… he just doesn’t know this because it’s implanted in his brain and he doesn’t release it:)

Good color too… when you get to very hot area you will understand why I have never bought a car that was not white :) it can be 120 outside the car will still be nice and cool :) (well cool for condition anyways :) )

Oh btw... I wouldn’t worry too much about the bra... you WILL get dents... there is nothing you can do to stop that. Just worry about car itself and not the looks :)

    Hope some of this helps:)
