Discussion in 'General Instruction [BG]' started by Bluez Dawg, Jan 18, 2006.

  1. I was reading in my bass guitar for dumbies book, that their is a fill in groove you can do? what does that mean? I know the basic blues scale, Am AM pentonic scales, but whats this filling in stuff it talks about?

I'll take a shot at this. Quoting BG for Dummies, "Fills are mini-solos that give grooves a little flash every now and then." basically they are a short deviation from the repetitive groove usually at the end of the groove line to take things back to the top, add some variety and wow your audience. Listen to some Electric Six tunes for pretty straitforward examples.
