Final Fantasy Origins

Yeah, the first one was very difficult I remember.

the next 2 were even harder.

but then IV and VI were easy, I never played V though.

I think it's a cool idea, but what I want to see them do, is remake all the FF games, including 7,8,9

remake 7,8,9 for PS2, give them excellent graphics and stuff. that would be neat.

 

Im playing FF tactics right now...

A LOT different approach to the franchise but kick ass nonetheless

 

Tactics is great, it has the best storyline too. (well written etc.)

theres a rumor goin round that there is a sequel it FFVII in the works....really, a sequel to X and not VII?



I never actually finished a FF game....i dont know what to do in III (or VI, whatever), my VII discs are damaged (plus its on pc, and i dont like pc rpgs), my VIII discs are slightly damaged plus there is a boss I absolutly CANNOT beat on disc 4.

 

As a FF freak, I'm not going to say much, becuase once I get started....

All i'm gonna say is 3 (Japan: 6)

Was the best game,,, EVER. That story is still one of the best ever I have seen in ANY game.

No one remembers or cares though.

Honestly, while I really like three, I disagree with most FF fans and I think its not the best one. I really liked the story to 8...for some reason it just really grabbed me. Plus some of the music on there is fantastic. Some of the GF times take wayyyy too long though.

Cloud is the coolest RPG character ever.

any chrono trigger fans? I recently found a CT site that shows all the similarities between that game and the Bible....some of the similarities are scarily similar.

 

Yeah, Polly said it best, As a FF freak, I shouldn't get started either.

That said, I would like to add that I think, while 3(VI) was great, I love X, X is sooooo excellent, if not for the characters/world/story, the sphere grid and the battle system are worth it.

I'm also a final fantasy freak. I haven't played any of them after VII though I actually don't think III was the best, I think VII takes the cake. I played all of them before VIII and VII was a breakthrough for the series. I found III to be somewhat long and boring.

 

Odd! My second fav is 8, I mean come on, after seeing the movies of the magi fight on the plane, then the castle being devoured by the huge "sucks-o-lot" monster, how could you NOT like it??? I mean those were just amazing. And a fake swordplay sence in the first part of the game? KICK ASS! Cloud was the coolest ever,,,except for my boy Sabin! WHO HAS A FAV ESPER FROM 3?????? MINE IS TRITOCH! ALL ELEMENTAL!!! 10 WAS COOL! I HAVE ONE GAME FOR PS2, IT IS 10, MUST HAVE PLAY LIVE FINAL FANTASY!!!.........

Yeah, CT was pretty cool, my games back in the day were FF3 and Crono Trigger... Frog was the shiznity poo. The whole "end of time" thing was confusing at first. DO YOU KNOW THE EASY UP LEVELS PART WHEN YOU CAN GO TO LIKE KILL THESE THINGS THAT ONLY COME IN THE RAIN IN BC TIMES AND GET LIKE 1000 EX POINTS FOR EVERY KILL!?!?!?! IT BRINGS YOU DOWN TO 1HPS AND THEN WON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE IT'S REALLY AWESOME I GOT UBER HUGH LEVELS AND.........

FF4 - Played halfway thru...meh
FF5 - Didnt like it
FF6 - *see FF3
FF7 - LOVED it
FF8 - Liked it, not the greatest though
FF9 - Liked it slightly more than 8, too easy IMO
FF10 - Liked it more than 9, less than 6. Good game.
FF Tactics - LOVED IT. My personal favorite.
FF Mystic Quest - Didnt like it.

Chrono Trigger - LOVED it
Chrono Cross - liked it, big let down from CT
Xenogears - LOVED it, my favorite non FF RPG.
Xenosaga - haven't played it yet, but i'm looking forward to playing it.

for those who played Xenogears, did you find it a little bit long? took me 35 hours to beat the first disk great game

I've never played any FFs after 9.

So there's going to be a twelve? When did eleven come out?

Jesus, I need to get a PS2. I'm so behind on all this.

 

FF11 is a MMORPG that hasnt been released yet. It has no single player story, just alot of people hacking each other online, similar to EverQuest. And I think its a totally different team working on 11, whereas the normal people are finishing up X-2 (the sequel to 10) and starting on 12.

 

FFI was definatley cool. The only thing I didn't like about it was buying potions. You had to buy one at a time and it seemed to take forever. I had an NES Max (or was it the Advantage? I forget) and I would just set something heavy on the turbo button and walk away while I bought potions.

I few months ago, I finally got to play FF5 and really liked it. It was cool that you could totally customize your characters with the job system.

I agree, Xenogears is a LONG game. A great game though. Sometimes though, I think that they put a little to much emphasis on the story. Don't get me wrong, I love a great story, but sometimes you would play the game for an hour at a time without fighting a battle.

Another great RPG is Secret of Mana.

 

You are aware of the japanese/american release number change?

how final fantasy 2 and 3 were never released here but 4 and 6 were, so they were called 2 and 3 because american gamers are dumb.

Or is just a coincidence that you loved 3 and 6?

Actually, i didnt know that 2 was the same as 4, but i did know that 3 was same as 6. Thats why i put *see FF3, because its the same game. I guess i have played 2 then...I played 4 when it was released on PS with CT.
