    Hey Guys,
If you didn't already know a few weeks back, I picked up a used Ampeg 810. Well, I finally got a chance to gig with it tonight. I don't a have a head but a friend of mine was nice enough to let me borrow his SWR Bass 350. All I have to say is wow. Since we don't have good PA equipment, we had to play strait out of our amps and this is a much better alternative than my Carvin PB200 (which is being serviced right now). The Bass 350 held it's own, but I'm going to try and find a cheaper head w/ more power, either the Ampeg B2R or the Peavey Nitrobass. Most likely the Peavey because of budget restrictions. Even for an old beat up 70s cab, the 810 sounded great, which is just another testament to the reliability of Ampeg gear. I'm glad I picked it up, or I would've regretted it. Always remember guys if you ever find an Ampeg 810 for 200 bucks, please buy it...

I suggest getting a Carvin R600 or R1000 head. The R600 costs $570 and has an output of 600 watts in to 4 ohms bridged mono. The R1000 costs $650has an output of 1000 watts into 4 ohms bridged mono. Both have lots of tone shaping ability and are built solidly.

Find a used GK 800RB. It's a very good match for the Ampeg.
