I'm so excited - my new Glockenklang cab sits in my living room for some days now but I didn't have any gig or rehearsal to test it yet. Now that my gear upgrade is completed I want to say thank you to everybody at this forum who answered my questions and helped me along in the past 17 months. In fact I did learn much more about amps and cabs than in the 14 years before. My previous rig was a Hartke 2000 amp (200W, too weak) and an Ampeg SVR-215 cab (too heavy, too boomy in smaller venues). Now I've got a Hughes&Kettner BassBase 400 and a Glockenklang 'Double' (2-12 w/horn, 500W, 4Ohms, only 64lbs.) I did a 'living room hifi test' by plugging a discman into the amp/cab and comparing it to my Gallien-Krueger MB150: This cab is really amazing, it sounds so full and well balanced! I'll give a short review after my next band rehearsal... Matthias
Nice rig matthias.......... and nice ´ray too.... don´t forget to make review when you finally rock on it.....
I made a 3 hour visit to LAG (Luthiers Access Group) last night and tried Glock equipment for the first time....after wanting to do so for years. I've been playing through my "studio reference" Redhead for the last 10 years and all I can say is that I was completely amazed and totally blown away. I am usually not THAT impressed by new equipment, but this was an eye-opener. Can't wait to hear what you think and to get a detailed evaluation from you.
lol Maybe I should have said 'completed so far'.... This forum has one downside: participating can cause serious GAS attacks But seriously: Once you have found the gear which seems to be made just for you, you will no longer search for something new because you just don't have to. I've seen this with my Stingray: I don't think that I will ever need another bass. Matthias BTW: I did not choose the Glockenklang because of the name - it was simply the cheapest and lightest 212 available. (Eden and Epifani are very expensive here in Europe)
and most unfortunately i can't speak or read german... i contaced them and i hope to have the info i need. but i can't find your cab on their website, is it a custom or a discontinued model? or am i dull?
http://www.glockenklang.de/de/produkte/bass/bassware-double.htm You have to click on 'Produkte und User' and then 'Bass-Systeme', then you'll find a list in the frame on the left side. The 'Bassware' line is their 'affordable' line, the rest is a bit more expensive, but still cheaper than say Mesa Boogie. (however prices in the US seem to be ridiculously high, one can really ask if the stuff is worth the money in this case.) No ideas about prices in Italy though. A German music store with a large online-shop is: http://www.musik-produktiv.de respectively http://www.musik-produktiv.de/shop/...id=19102001113546162854-0YIL1VO23VJBEYOY47678 (Just to get an idea) Matthias
I paid 937,- (and got a speaker cable for free... wow ) Other choices would have been: Eden D-212 XLT: 1.100 Epifani T-212: 1.450 (Ampeg SVT 115E and 210HE: 1.200) Matthias
That´s so true, I´ve been heer for more than 3 months and now I want like 3 diferent basses..... and still don´t have enough money for just one
