yup. got gouged on shipping. don't care $1050 shipped for The Bass (note the capitalization)? I'm happy. Could have been $50 for the bass and $1000 for shipping, I'd have still pulled the trigger. If he wants to skate a few bucks worth of ebay fees, I'm cool with that.

Bass price: A+ Shipping price: F- I know you said you don't care because the overall price is good, but that's still bullsh*t on the seller's part to charge that much. Insurance for the first $100 of item value is free, and each additional $100 of insurance costs either 40 or 50 cents. Even at 50 cents, the insurance would only cost an extra $4.50. I shipped a guitar from Ohio to Florida a few weeks ago and including insurance it cost $21, and he's charging $100 more than that. It's obviously still a good deal, but if the Buy It Now wasn't used and it got bid up into the $1200-1500 range that shipping charge would be a big downer.
I was going to point out the same thing. That would explain the shipping - packing a (presumably) live human into the box will surely cost a lot more.
