OK, here's the thing. I was watching The Old Grey Whistle Test here in the UK when I was about 15, so we're talking probably mid 70's. Soft Machine did a session with a woman on violin and the bass player that absolutely blew my mind. He played a really fast impressive riff all the way through the tune & I still remember it to this day. I don't think it was their usual bassist, (Hugh Hopper) it *may* have been Jack Bruce, I'm not sure. Is anyone out there old enough to remember this, who was the bassist and more importantly, can you find me the video? Pleeeeez?
