Finding auditions for cover work

Discussion in 'Band Management [BG]' started by matthewbrown, Apr 21, 2003.

  1. I'm interested in finding paid performance work over the summer. Is there a place besides the union that lists these? Perhaps online? I'm experienced, read well, double on flute, and even have a tux. Where to go?:meh:

For local work, check out the area's music magazines, entertainment papers, club listings, etc. Also search for their on-line equivalents. There are several here in Columbus. Also pull the phone book and call the local booking agents and entertainment companies, be sure to keep on their minds, get them a promo pack. Ask them for contacts for the cruise ship gigs - if they don't do any, they'll be able to find out who does.

I've never had any success with the national listing services whatsoever. YMMV.

    Best of luck to you.

Your local yellow pages is a good tool in finding places to play.
