My 8 year old daughter has expressed an interest in learing the bass guitar... Chip of the 'ole block :smug:

I'd like to find her a smaller bass that she can handle, something around a 3/4 scale... I've seen the Samick MCR 1... Is there anything else out there that would make a better starter bass?

  2. I would check out the SX basses that Rondo Music sells. Look for the short scales.

I was on Amazon.com last night. Lots of basses on Amazon, which used to only be a book store. They have all kinds of cute "Daisy Rock" basses. Some are wild looking- like a flower or heart; others are conventional. All are designed for smaller hands and reach.

I have the SX short scale jazz and I've got nothing but praise for it. Best $100 you'll spend.
