Finger length vs agility, who has the shortest finger?

  1. I have below average finger length but I'm a good guitarist bassist and drummer. I cant play thumb chords but I have a way of playing those chords without my thumbs like the Great White video "save your love".
I have a 35" scale bass so I hop around a little should have a gig soon. I guess it doesn't matter my middle fretting finger is 3" long 3.75" is average.
    I'm watching that Simpsons episode.
  2. Welcome and thank you for your service. What we do with what we have is the important thing. I two have small hands, but, I've learned how to use them.

Victor Wooten has tiny hands. I held mine up to his and I think my fingers were almost a full inch longer. And he makes do. :D

yep i met steve bailey many years ago and said i loved bass but my hands were too small. he held his up to mine and we were almost the same! he kills it on a six string. the stretch just develops over time.

Stubbiness. It's usually inherited from the father's side.

Comedy aside, as someone affected, it's a challenge but not a deal breaker.

Exactly. My middle fretting finger is 3 1/8" if you go from the inside. It seems like every other guy's hands look like giant hands compared to mine. But I can play just fine.
