Finger style + effects ?

    How do you make your effects sounds better when playing with fingerstyle ?

    i like the way fingerstyle plays, but i also love the way an overdrive sounds with a pick.. how do you combine these ? if i play with the finger + overdrive, it misses the " kick " in the beginning of the note.. not much attack, but much sustain

    in my own little spot... don't touch me!
    Lay it down on the strings with your fingers, almost slap them rather then making shorter finger soft strokes just go and reach above the strings then come down on them. Also try drop tunning a half or whole step down, I find that puts more of a percussive attack into fingerstyle.

    Slaping is also good for getting that punch a heavier pick gets.

    I'd like to add something; stainless steel strings get a really punchy sound and succeed in getting that heavy tone.
