does spector offer any other fingerboards besides rosewood (and, I'm assuming, ebony on fretlesses)? i think i thought i saw a maple fretboard on a us one, but it may not have been.

also, what are some generalities you know of about purpleheart fretboards? is it almost identical to rosewood tonally? recently, i played a roscoe bass w/ purpleheart neck and another roscoe w/ph neck, and at least ph looks cool, really different.

I think the high end spectors have pao-ferro fingerboards.

I just checked my spector catolog and the U.S. models have pao-ferro fretboards, and the rest have rosewood. I don't know about any different fretboard options though.

  5. I think they built Jason Newsted's Spectors with ebony (fretted:D) fingerboards.
