Maple or Rosewood? Why?
... should've searched more thoroughly for old threads. You can still give your opinion though.
you should do a search. but I prefer rosewood.
but I love maple, like the look of pau ferro, and the density of ebony. Rosewood is boring.
Back to RW for me. Couldn't control the highs with maple. RW offers a more compressed type of tone.
Next time try searching before posting a new thread, especially on something as common as this.
BTW, I prefer Pau Ferro.
Depends entirely on what your needs are - different woods for different jobs.
Rosewood, (assuming it's East Indian rosewood/palisander), - more warmth and "roundness."
Maple, (it's northern/rock maple) - more punch and definition.
There's no reason to limit yourself to those woods if you don't have to. Other woods with comparable hardness and density do the job as well or better.
Uhm...... I like ebony.
I like Balsa

Ebony of course. Black + good looking, very good sounding.
Maple or Rosewood? Definitely Rosewood.
For me, nothing beats Ebony (good for Fretless also) as wood, but if you like to slap, aluminium is sweet!
Rosewood or ebony....same reasons as above.
I like babinga best.
For fretless, Phenowood, Ebony, or hard coated rosewood/whatever.
For fretted, ebony, birdseye maple, wenge or purpleheart.
