Evenin' all. I finished college today after 2 long years.

Although I'm not usually a self pitier, I did look back at the whole passage and thought 'wow, I achived sh*t all' (other than course qualifications and going on to uni).

What I really mean, is I pretty much failed at any social apsects, leaving today thinking '..wait, theres no one I'll miss apart from those I knew from school'..Lame huh?

Overall it was crap, had a good start but then as my freinds bailed out (by this xmas my close group had gone from 6 to 2) it become worse and I started hanging about more on the college pcs (TALKBASS, granted I've had a luagh, learnt a lot and made 'online-freinds', i hope ;) !) more as apposed to socialising with real people.

Hmmm...looks like your social butterfly decided to stay a caterpillar. Were you only going for an associate's degree?

And you move on from there. Congatulations. It appears you did learn a few things.
  4. I finished first year of college (s'a two year course I'm doing) yesterday, and I have to say that it's been the best year of my life. Okay, the social aspect wasn't up to much, but I'm stuck out in th sticks with the last bus at 11pm - perfect to ruin any nights out.

OTOH, I've learned so much, made so many friends, and had so much fun I'm almost expecting to wake up soon and find it was just a dream.

I have to agree with you on the quitter though - the people finishing my course is half what started it. (40 people started the course....)

    What course were you doing?

I started with 4 AS subjects; Biology, Law, ICT and MEdia, then went on to do 3 A levels; MEdia, ICT and law.

    What course did/are you doing?
  6. I am doing HND Modern Musicianship.

What you seem to be doing is like extra A-levels and the like, yeah? (I am not at all knowledgable about the English system). My college runs quite a lot of those kinda courses (Higher and Advanced Higher here), and some of them do attract quite a lot of school drop-outs. Not that all of them do, some are genuinly interested courses, and I wish I'd done a couple.

OTOH Law, Biology, ICT and Media does sound quite heavy......

The course that I am doing, however, is an alternative to university; full-on further education. It is marketed like that, at least.....
  7. I also finished college on Friday, gaining a BTEC National Diploma in Multimedia Design :p .
Got the big exhibitions next week opened to the public...but I'm finally out of there! :D
