No kidding, dude. How is it that we can slap GPS, word processing, internet browsing, etc.. into a phone and sell it for $100; we can put a missile through a window from a few hundred miles away, we can put dudes on the moon and send satellites to Jupiter but the best low-cost solution for having an incapacitated leg/foot is slapping a couple of sticks under the armpits and leaning on them?? Crutches suck..I'm so sore along the sides of my upper torso and my arms. Where are all the great american inventors on this one?! In Japan they have toilets that are mp3 players. They have ear cleaners with cameras built in....can we get a friggin crutch replacement, world??

    Eh?
FYI, armpit crutches are still widely used only in North America. Everywhere else, forearm crutches (with the cuff that releases your arm if you fall) are used even for temporarily disabled patients.

  4. I propose we hereby only refer to armpit crutches as *redneck* or *Wal-Mart* crutches

I'm aware of the Rascal option. The key here is "low-cost." I can't go buying a Rascal every time I temporarily lose the use of a leg.

I thought you guys used hockey sticks up there?
