First Acoustic bass

    What is a good buy for a first acoustic bass? Ive only played an Ibanez AEB10BK and i liked that. It was only $700 odd aswell.

    What do you guys think are a cheap investment for a first acoustic bass?

    My Epiphone El Capitan has blown away every Ibanez AEB I've tried...And I got it for only $400 brand new! :D

    What's your local climate like? How well do traditional acoustic guitars survive? If things tend to be dry, you may want to consider an Ovation or its less expensive cousin, the Applause. I've heard they do better in dry climates.

    I really like my Tacoma Thunderchief. What about one of those or the Olympia Asian version?
