I took my new rickenbacker (ok, it's a tokai copy, i'm too poor to realise the dream yet) for a routine check-up when i got it, and the guy at the shop says the top fret is too high, hence making open G buzz on occasions, and he says something needs to be done about it...but i've heard of the dangers of messing with frets.

I need to do something cause i got a recording coming up, would anyone here think it'd be worth leaving it in for it to be tampered with, i mean...i guess they'd just sand it down or something.... :help:
  2. frets are reshaped by filing all the time. as long as they know what they are doing, it should be fine to let them have at it.
