First gig with the Pawn Shop Mustang

  1. I got a new Pawn Shop Mustang a few weeks ago and gigged with it for the first time last night. That little thing rocks! We are a cover band and play mostly classic rock and some country. Had a friend who is in another band in the crowd. He is one of those types of people who is brutally honest with is evaluation of musicians/sound. He was impressed with the sound of the bass in the FOH mix. It was thumpin'.

The rig I used was a Peavey TNT115 combo. (No PA support) I just flattened the EQ and turned the volume down from what I normally have it set at for my Yamaha PJ. The Mustang is not an active bass, but the pickup is hot. The sound is perfect for classic rock. Of course I am a wee bit biased since I like it so much.
