... mentioned on Adult Swim. Anybody just see the recommendation to go out and buy every Motown record ever featured Jamerson? And they even said they thought he was the best bass player ever. Eat your heart out Fieldy.:)

It was jaco, with a little bit about wooten and claypool. I think.

  5. I know they did one on Jaco, I saw it, but in the one with Jamerson (Who once again, totally rocks. I heard " I Was Made To Love Her" on the radio today since I picked up the bass. Un-frickin-believible.), but they said "Clarke and ______ maybe be good, but Jamerson is the best ever."

Edit: It was Haden. Thanks for reminding me Bryan

No, the Jaco one was a completely different ad. IIRC, it said Clarke and Haden, as in Stanley and Charlie Haden.

I think the Adult Swim guys definitely know their fan base. Says a lot about us bass players as well, although I'm not sure if what it says is a good thing or not :)

one of these days I'm going to publish a list of all the bass player trends.

I have seen a whole bunch, and the list just keeps growing.

    :p

  8. I've been away from TV for the past 2.5 months now, so I've missed Adult Swim. Which episodes of which shows are making these references? I must know now.

  9. I guess a bassplayer does the advertising on adultswim now or something:confused:

Adult Swim has little breaks before and after a show goes to commercial where they have little "cards" as they call them (just white type on a black screen) where they talk about whatever they like, and it's usually pretty funny. They're also random, and occasionally they replay them at different times. That's where the references are.

Edit: Go to www.adultswim.com to see an example of the cards in the upper-left hand corner.

Well, I thought it wasn't happening till october...but Lupin III has been replaced by Bebop :(

I love bebop, but I was far more interested in lupin(new, entertaining, as opposed to old and entertaining) oh well.

They say a lot of really neat things in those cards. I wish that they made them more often, they once did a whole section soemthing like "we get a lot of mail, but one of the most pressing questions we get, we thought we'd answer" "we don't you you sans-serif fonts?"

then they went for liek 2 minutes talking about fonts and what look best in white on a black screen to people that are tired at 1 in the morning :D

  15. I don't watch the anime on Adult Swim too much, but I watched this one show the other night when some chick on a motorcycle whacked someone in the head with a Rickenbaker. Anyone else see that?
