First new strings

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by bass4ever, Jun 24, 2002.

  1. Hi

I have been playing bass for about four years but on my last one the strings would have been worth more then the bass. I have had a Peavey Fury IV for about 6 months and I think the time has come for my first string change as I also have my first gig in a couple of weeks! I haven't a clue where to start looking as there seems to be loads of strings out there  which ones should I get that are a reasonable price and good for rock in the style of feeder.

Thanks for your patience with a newbie!!

I'm not sure about the prices in England but in the U.S. GHS boomers are inexpensive and are a decent string. Also check out the Fender strings. If you want a little more high end string, like stainless steel string the the DR's are a good bet as well as LaBelle's. Hope this helps. Oh and try harmony central web site as they have a list of links to a bunch of string manufacturers.
