kinda OT.. but i'm pleased w/ myself broke the "Value Increment" momentary pushbutton inside the unit a while ago, turning it into a $(whatever it's worth atm) piece of junk. found a replacement (sort of - it doesn't exactly fit, so i had to carve apart the actual housing a bit), desoldered the old piece, resoldered the new one on, and it's working 100% again. not the first time I've soldered, and it wasn't esp. complex, but it's a rare event that i actually make something work again once I've taken it apart (/bragging off)
Agreed. How is this relating to "basses" at all? These posts keep getting more and more off topic... I think it's the newbies becoming more careless, either that or they're becoming dumber. =\
Hey it happens somtimes... it just happened to me the other day... posted something as off topic as a sax player in basses. Maybe I should stop leaning my head up against the speaker when i play...
Soldering can be addictive. Sometimes I get this humongous jones to solder a few things, so I break out the gun and make some of my famous bullet-proof patch cables. I'm thinking about doing the Mackie 1604 VLZ pre-fader EQ mod just for something to do. What really killed me the other night was when I was in my office, and my 3-year-old daughter came in and asked, "Dad, can we solder something?" I'd swear it's genetic ... except she's adopted.
