I am getting a 1991 Fender Prodigy with active P-J pickups. I'm looking to get a set of flatwound strings for it. I've got Chromes on my Highway 1 P bass, and I was looking to try something different on the Prodigy. I play all kinds of music and just want to try something else out. I was thinking about a set of Rotosounds RS77's. Any recommendations??

try some pyramids. expensive but different
  4. I use Chrome Flats or TI Jazz Flats on my Alembic Persauder Active P/J bass. Love it to death! They sound as good on my 73 Precision.

I used Rotosound RS77s for a long time - but I have been using Fender Flatwounds on all of my basses for the past 5 years or so - and they work well for me. Plenty of punch and well balanced. Not too expensive either.
