Flats with dark green silks?

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by halloweenfiend, Mar 27, 2009.

  1. Hey was wondering if anyone knows of a flat that comes with dark green silks on the ends? U see, I saw a picture of Bill Wyman from 1981 playing his Travis Bean bass and the strings had green silks at the tuners. Thanks.

May have been Fender. Fender 850's the stock set on new Fender basses until about 1982 had a green silk winding.

Pyramid strings. My bud has the original set on his 60's Hofner.
They have a dark green silk wrap also.

  10. i have mine on a short scale which have less tension by rule anyway.. so i couldn't really give you a direct comparison.. buut i'd say they're about the same as the chromes that were on my jazz

They sound like Fender Flats to me. Mine only have the silk at the bridge. I really like them, I just wish stores would carry them.
