Flatten/Lessen Overtones

    As I've aged -now 71- I'm sometimes having difficulty distinguishing tones; notes will sound slightly out of tune. If there an effects pedal or unit that would reduce overtones, which might help?

    I play a Rick 4003 and an Epiphone viola bass. I don't play out, and I don't record. I like a round, clean sound (if possible).

    Low pass filter. Broughton audio makes a great one for about $100
    All it does is filter out the extreme top end of your signal, and on extreme settings you’ll sound like reggae dub bass with the tone rolled off all the way
