Hi, i've been looking around at fretlesses today (played 3) and they were all very nice but all with roundwound strings. Anyway I really want to hear what flatwounds on a fretless sound like.
Does anyone have any soundclips of what they sound like?

    thanks

    thanks man appreciate it

I read on the forums that flatwounds can lower the playability. One of the first things im going to do when I get my fretless is play Teen Town on it, do flatwounds actually slow your playing down (seems bizarre to me).

Also, can flatwounds break through, I do a bit of soloing in the bands im in and the flatwounds have a great low end but is it possible to get a clarity with them?

    thanks

Haha man, that was my first goal when I got the fretless.
I wouldn't say they slow you down, but they sure do feel different. I haven't had too much experience with recording, but when I play out, I do find I have to turn the amp up a bit when I switch to my fretless. Maybe it's just the crummy pickups. Who knows.

    Good luck!
