i have an acoustic/electric conversion (or whatever you call them) on my xmas list this year. i was planning on throwing some flatwounds on it to hopefully give the tone a more upright sound. i know that it won't sound exactly like an upright cause of the shape and the concave-ity or whatever (i'm not good with terminology) but will it sound less like an acoustic and more like an upright, or vice versa? any help appreciated.

  2. Using flats will definitely get you closer to the sound of an upright. Technique makes a big difference, too.
