Flea Fender

    I've seen some pics of Flea with a 62 Jazz, does anyone know if his contract with modulus is up? or is he changing gear?

    Search this topic- it was recently talked about. From what I recall, he's had that fender for many years.

    IIRC this topic came up earlier but I don't think we came to any conclusion, I think he may have had that fender awhile... i dunno.

    I hear he's had that thing a long time, and is just preferring it more and more these days.

    artists do this frequently- have a "deal" with one builder but appear with another builder's instrument. I've never heard of a contract that prohibits an artist appearing in a photo with a conflicting instrument.

    It would be customary though for the artist to receive a call from his supported brand saying something to the effect "hey, what that heck you doing? We have an ad out now with your picture in it and you appear with someone elses bass. This makes us look non-credible".

    I would think Flea's deal is still intact. As long as he has a "signature" model, he's getting a percentage (small) for every one that sells.
