    Hey all.

I'm looking to play the bass lines to a few of the songs of Rammstein's new album. Most of the tabs I've seen tell me to tune to drop D, 1 step down (CGCF). When I tune my E to a C, it's not playable because it's way too loose.

Are there any tricks to it, or should I just think about stringing my bass BEAD instead of EADG?

You could use the top four string of a five string set if you're gonna tune down that far. You'll have to permanently widen the slots in the nut however. If you just want to drop the E string to a D, .105 or .110 will do the job. A .125 is the typical low B guage.
