foam-jamerson style help

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by bassmonkey144, Feb 22, 2005.

  1. hey, can anybody explain to me how exactly he did this. i know he stuck some foam under the bridge ash tray, but idk how much, or how dense or anything. if anybody has a picture, or can explain it better, that would be awesome. thanks.
  2. Back in the day, the felt mute was actually stuck on the inside of the bridge cover from the factory. You can do pretty much the same thing by putting a piece of foam (or felt, or whatever) under your strings at the bridge, make sure you use foam that won't easily shred or cause a whole lot of dust. Put a bunch under there, and cut the foam a bit at a time until you get the desired results.
  3. awesome, thanks
