Hi guys, Im looking for that classic P thump. I have got my flatwound strings and now im gonna get some foam.

My question to you is how much foam do you think will get me that desired tone.

    Cheers

I use a piece about 1 1/4 inch wide under my strings with it barely touching each string for height. Killer tone too cuts right through the mix.

  3. :D I once had a rubber pouch filled with silica gel, I think it was some sort of a cold/warm gel pouch for neck pain relief... I stuffed it under the strings of one of my Elricks... I must say it wasn't the traditional P-bass thump you're looking for, but it sure is worth trying. Sounds very interesting...:)
