Fodera Sighting in Dallas!

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Jeff Rader, Jun 28, 2002.

  1. What timing!

I stopped in Larry Morgan Music in Garland just as they were unpacking a new Fodera Emperor II - single cutaway, full buckeye top and headstock, Aero pups, block inlays, neck thru, ash back. Very Sweet!

    Over $7000.

    Way too much money, IMHO!

If you're in the area, it's definitely worth checking out.

  3. I know... I couldn't believe it.

It would be a great bass for about half that.

  4. Is that list, or actual selling price???

  5. They told me the list was over $8K.

mmm...e36 3series. what engine you got in that thing? the e36 M3 is one of my favorite bimmers, behind the e30 m3, the m635csi, and the M coupe.

you know what's funny though...we bitch about $7k basses but imagine if you were a bassoon player - a good student model is more than that, and most of the bassoon players at the university paid over 20k for theirs.

hmm, half that? so now you have the price of a sadowsky 5 string. one you have a a bass in which all the parts were sourced out and was assembled. the other you have something that was completely hand made in shop and a lot more labor intensive. 7k might be high but i think its justifiably more expensive than the sadowsky.

  9. Having played both, I don't agree. Given the opportunity to have either bass, I would choose my Sadowsky. No hesitation. YMMV...

  10. My mileage varies. I'm glad I don't have to make that choice at the moment, but I like my Fod better.

  12. Gotta love that freedom of choice thingy! :D

Actually, I think I might choose Adrian's BMW!

  13. Hmmm...I wonder if I traded my Fodera AND my Sadowsky.

Warwick5S, i am ashamed to say , i dont much about them other than its a blast to drive and its not an M3- ( i wish..) its a 325is - sport package for grandpa!!
but really- it cost less than and Anthony Jackson and some Alembics ive seen!!!
