Anyone seen the Folgers coffee magazine ads with a little kid holding a Veillette Citron 4 string?
No, but I've seen the Wal-Mart commercial where the kid in the family band is holding a Warwick.
you sure it's not a wal-wick?
dosent wal-mart make war-wicks?
I'm not gonna touch that one!
Hey, Wal mart, warwicks, woodchucks, what else?
Anyone (besides Brian and me) even remember the Veillette Citron basses?
i absolutely remember them- i wanted one so bad i could taste one!!
Bass Northwest had one on their website about a year or two ago. They had that thing forever and it was less than a grand! It looked much nicer then the headless Citrons nowadays. I havent seen the walmart commercial or foldgers ad yet.
Absolutely! The adverts for them gave me major GAS.
The ad is in the latest issue of Road & Track.
The only Citron basses I'm familiar with are the Harvey Citron's. Not the same beast I presume.
Actually Harvey and Joe Veillette worked together waaay back then (I'm guessing late 70's-early 80's). Made a pretty cool bass. If I hadn't hooked up with Michael Tobias, I would have bought one.
It's on p. 76 of the February 2002 Road & Track.
Brad's absolutely correct. And Veillette's basses and barritone guitars are IMHO much more attractive then the Citrons. Wish they would get together and design another bass or two, hehe!
