First I'd like to thank all of you that responded to my original thread and helped me find out more about my new bass. It turned out to be a SD Curlee C-30. I still don't know what year it was made in but that is mainly because they were low production.
I finished stripping it and after sanding, coated it with Waterlox Satin tung oil. The results are astounding!
I just wanted to say thanks and show you what it looks like now.

    Thanks for the help, Beaux.
P.S. the knobs will be black.

OK, is it me, or is that bridge crooked? And the D string out of whack due to the bridge saddle position? (Look at the string spacing.)

Nice-looking bass, but I wouldn't want to play it like that.

The strings aren't tight. when we got it all put together, we found that one of the pots was shorting out and not allowing any output. the pic was taken after some tinkering, hence no knobs.
