    if you paint the grills silver they look more like they sound. emailed the pics to dave himself and he thinks they look great!

    funny how you bring this up, at my gig this weekend, my bandmates were telling me that the grill on my 410 would look better silver.

    what kind of paint did you use??? spray? what texture?

    i used a heat resistant spray paint for durability and weather-proofing... bought it at the local hardware store for $3. they do look alot better in person...

    as for texture it doesn't say but it is almost chrome-like in person... (gloss maybe?)

    shines, but not quite as reflective as chrome...

    it was rustoleum heat resistant, like for grills and radiators. don't have the can but it had the very shiny top not the gray one...

    If you use spray paint, wont it spray through the grill, and get on the speakers,and whatever else is inside the cab?

    You remove the grill, paint it, let it dry, then reinstall.

    yes, you unscrew the little screws then you take it off and put some masking tape over the little avatar emblem and then use several passes with thin even coats... ;)

    Good job!

    One of my bandmates suggested I do the same thing, since I pair my Avatar with a chrome-grilled Goliath cab.

    Now the big question - bentem, were you being serious or facetious?

    Yea that silver is pretty hot looking. A great addition to a great sounding cab.

    I sprayed the grille of my JBL a darkish purple years ago. I like it. No-one else notices unless we do a gig in daylight.

    But SILVER - they'll notice that! hmmmmm
