This is Aguilar's wonderful little solidstate head. IMO/IME, its about 90% of that creamy tubey goodness that can only be found in the DB750, but at a fraction of the weight and without the rather saggy bottom end. It's also LOUD!!!! I could see this head cutting the mustard on any gig, excepting 'stupid loud' gigs. Even then, you could always get a GS412, which literally could kill an elderly person within 20 feet of its speaker throw. But I digress..........

I am the original owner of this fine amp, and as such it will ship in its original box, minus the styrofoam inserts. Its been in a rack case since the very moment I took it out of the box, and has had zero issues to this date. The only reason I'm getting rid of it is that I would like to get into the Markbass F1 head to power my two GS112s. I leave the AG500 set flat and use my Sadowsky preamp/DI for tone-shaping, so why not shed a few extra pounds by going with the ultra-light F1, right?

I'm not into trades unless its either a Markbass LMII or an F1. Thanks for looking!!! Here's a link to drool over:

Bumpage for the early-morning Midwestern crowd, as well as the 'I stayed up WAY to late' West Coast crowd.

Elmon, you would'nt by chance have tried this amp with an NV 610 before have you? I've been intrigued by these. I'm still not sure about the difference between the AG500 and SC. I know one has OD. Which i really would'nt use. But I'm looking for that nice little "break up" when I dig in. Can these SC's do that? Thanks.

Well, the sale is on HOLD pending a response from an interested party, but as to the AG500 breaking up, like say a tube amp does, I would say no, it doesn't. It is certainly dynamically responsive and has a plush feel to it that is somewhat similar to a tube amp, but I would want either a sansamp, or even the second channel that the dual channel AG500 offers.

Haven't tried this head through a NV610, but I'm sure it would kick ass. It can push a big cab REALLY well while still sounding amazing at low volumes.

I used to run my AG500-SC through an NV610 and I can say with certainty that the two are a wonderful match at low or high volumes.

  15. I did to and it was great match. Liked it better with the NV610 than with the HT322
