    I just assumed the Fender Custom Shop guys had taken the relic thing a bit too far.

    (They'd probably charge about $8500 for this... lol)

    Probably from taking it out of the case on the surface of the sun. Dries it out quick!

    Won't be able to tell how extensive the damage is until you re-string it and plug it in.

    One can only assume that termites don't care for maple... But they do seem to love rosewood and whatever else that used to be... :)

    Tough to tell the primary cause(s) of damage from the picture.
    Termites pack their tunnels full of dirt and when they move on it dries out and whatever cellulose is left is just splinters. But it looks like there was moisture damage first, maybe?

    either way, GLWTS!
