When I was learning Drums I heard that If you play along to Billie Jean for an hour a day for a few weeks
    your groove will get tight

I almost want to say that this groove
    "Fobidden Fruit" by NIK WEST

is the same recipe for pocket funk.

the line is not really complicated
but it is tricky because the plucks happen first on the strong beat then the next time on the weak beat

and the rhythm is not really easy to clap either

for any beginners or early intermdiate players that want a tutorial

if you can count 16th notes the following instructions may help
    On Beat one
the D to the E on the A string is played on the one and the E of one
    On Beat Two
the D to E pluck on the G string
is on the 2 and the & of 2

    on Beat three
the D to E on the A string and then open E (on the E string)

    Three E &

    Beat four
you have a pluck hammer on pull off
    four E &

the second measure is the same except for beat four
where no there is just pluck from the D to the Db
on the E and the & of four.

I am not sure of how to articulate a bass line on this forum
    i just wanted to share.

I think I get what you're saying. Maybe "Shakey Ground" (Temptations version) is another example, even though there's a couple of bass tracks on it.

Std notation, and even tabs are acceptable here, but you described it well.
