Forgot how much oooomph my G&L L1000 had

    My green '81 L1000 was gathering dust for a long time and I actually considered putting it on the chopping block with a batch of others, having been happy gigging with a Jazz or Precision for as long as I can remember.

    Pulled it out for my last couple of shows, and I have to say I forgot just how much that thing has under the hood... it really is a P bass on steroids. Even in parallel mode.

    Last night played it plugged into a reissue V4B and 212 cab. Earth shaking.

    G&L basses are da bomb. I'm a complete convert now, having put all my other basses on consignment. I've got two Kiloton 5's (one fretless) and an L-2500. So good.

    I'm sure an L1000 in passive mode sounds similar to the KT's or the bridge pickup on the L2500, but it would be cool to compare.
