Found a Bass-V...

    ...on the internet, never seen one before. Maybe this belongs in recordings.

    I'm not surprised that it's Tim Bogert is playing one. He seems to have always been in the forefront with outfront bass. I bet it had a high C.;)

    It doesn't look like a 5 to me. More like some sort of tassle or pendant attached to the headstock.

    I also immediately thought it was a 5-string.

    I tried stopping the footage and couldn't tell. Doesn't seem to flop around. Looks it's shaped like a shaving brush or something.

    That's not a Bass V. The Bass V had its tuning pegs all on one side. I owned one.

    Look again, if you slow down the video and count the tuning posts, it's clearly a 4 string with a charm or maybe one of those weights that increases sustain attached.
  7. yeah, its something hanging off of the headstock, and what looks like a tuning post is a string retainer.

    I knew it was not the old Fender V, I remember when those were in stores. I thought it might have been a string added to a regular Fender Jazz.
