No. There is even no proof that Flea owned it. The only thing that interests me about the bass is the fact that it's an older model with the mutes still in tact. But even if he did own it, it's still not worth $5600.

I could see if that was his WAL that he used but not for a stingray

This was being discussed over at EB's forum.

    I said:
This photo alone might make me avoid every black MM I come across.

You never know what might have happened with all that friction back there...

Even that would be rediculous considering a used Wal goes for like $2500 usually (max, from what I've seen anyway). Just because it was played by a celebrity, with no real proof, shouldn't cause the price to go up that much.

I wouldn't have used the term "come across".

Yea you're right. After reading the EB forum, his lower cutaway was cut deeper for him (up to the 21st fret or so), and the cutaway on the ebay bass definately isn't. Also the PG is different.

If Clapton's strat can make almost a million, $5,600 doesn't seem that bad for Flea's stingray.

  13. You don't see just a little difference between the two?

Anyway, if its such a great bass, how come he didn't keep it?
Peppers come on to hard financial times?

  14. BTW, what is up with the ugly head thing?

  15. I wonder if Modulus endorsing him has anything to do with it...

    Maybe...just maybe.

You'd think they'd at least include a hardshell for that price, seeing as one comes with a new 'ray.

Well I for one was shocked and appalled to see Guitar Center charging too much for used gear- they're usually very good about their used prices ;)

Maybe it was just owned by a guy who had fleas.
