Framus bass

    Hi I have a framus bass bought in the mid sixties and I dont now much about it .Can somebody help me? Pye

    It looks like a Framus "Star" bass.
    Bill Wyman used one in The Rolling Stones.

    I have an old Framus half accustic bass that i don't now the model name.
    It have a large silver Pick Guard, 2 mic's and 3 pots.
    The body is just like the picture in the link (http://www.vintage-guitars.se/1965_Framus_Star_Bass_sunb.jpg)

    There are 3 different numbers in the buttom that says:
    It is buildt in Bavaria
    65E = 1965 may?

    Hi Arild, that certainly looks like a Star Bass, 65E indeed means May 1965 from what I have heard that how Framus coded the manufacturing date. 5/150 is the model no.

    I bought an Atlantic bass (will post picture, when I figured it out) it's a 5/143 1968.

    Framus (Franken Musikinstrumente) was run by the father of the guy who now runs Warwick. You can actually go to the Framus site in Germany and find out about the bass via e-mail, they been quite helpful with my request.
