    I heard that older ones were pretty inexpensive...and were better than Hofners (which I have)....guess I'll just look into vintage guitars too

    Isn't Framus what evolved into the brand that we know today as Warwick?

    That's literally true.

    Hans-Peter Wilfer, the president and founder of Warwick, is the son of Alfred Wilfer, who created Framus in 1946.

    Bass Northwest has a Framus bass for sale on their website right now.

    I have Framus upright made in the year 1960. Made by H.P.Wilfer's father Mr. Wilfer. She is a beautiful piece of Bass, now I do not play any more, just a decoration in my living room.
