bought yesterday a new set of framus nickel roundwound strings (40-100)...
and i have to admit that i´m very impressed!!!
they costed only around 9euros ...and they sound great...nice growl...

  2. Same strings, nearly same impressions. Just switched from a set of .105 DR hi-beams and got more growl, more warmth, and my favourite type of sweet nickel zing. Almost no difference in tension and feel (yes, I know - DR's are very smooth for stainless and very flexible).
See what happens after a while.

They're quite cheap... how do they compare to D'Addario XL's? And would they fit a "35?
  4. My bass has a standard top-load bridge and 34" scale. There is about 1.75" between nut and tapering. So it may fit.
I haven't used XL's for a long time. Seems like Framus strings aren't as bright, but it could also be the bass.
