Noticed that there are lots of these clubs for owners of certain styles and manufactures of basses and cabs and such, but in searching the forums I didn't see an option for the "Franken-bass" owners of the world.

So, to define a Franken-bass... It cannot be a factory produced instrument in a stock form. Must either have been built from parts, or very heavily modded in such a way that it no longer functions as it's original form.

Here is a link to a video "review" and demo of my Franken-bass...

Yeah, but the old Frankenbass thread was closed and dated back to 2013.

    very cool... I like it!

Like how you have different styles of knobs for the 2 volumes and then the tone.... has a good practical thought in my mind... would make it easy in low light on stage to figure out which knob is which without having to look down...

Yes, '72 Jazz with a (roughly) '75 fretless precision neck swapped in. And don't miss the Hipshot xtender!

My beloved workhorse, a custom made Kali-KOA body with a Godin neck (rosewood fretboard), JPJ Pickups and a defeatable/switchable preamp... no finish 'cept some tung oil! Bought her in the early 80's as a simple P-Bass with a maple neck... modded throughout the 80's and held steady through the 90's and beyond!

Recently mine have been unholy alliances of parts from different instruments, such as this one made with a Hofner neck I scavenged from a violin bass with a damaged body and an Epiphone Les Paul Special II body I use as a test mule.

    Hofner Neck.
